Yoder Agricultural Restoration: 2023-2024, Yoder, WY.

Similar to so many other homogenized agricultural landscapes, the Yoder Farm is a monoculture of annual crops for export markets, an economic system rendering local soils and plant communities impoverished, with trickledown affects to our human communities. Following guiding principles of ecological restoration, such as the intermediate disturbance hypothesis and succession science, ER is initiating an agricultural restoration masterplan for 320 acres of arid degraded land near Yoder, WY, followed by restoration design and implementation of multiple demonstration projects. Project goals include increasing foil fertility, minimize exogenous inputs, raise farm profitability, diversity native and agricultural plant communities, and connect farm products to regional markets.
